AppReview was founded by a group of technology fanatics in 2008 coinciding with the launch of the Apple iPhone 3G. It became apparent that this new smartphone concept had achieved a new level of maturity and was about to experience significant growth. Early-on, we searched newly released apps on an almost daily-basis, and found that we simply could not keep up, even collectively, with the rate of newly released applications. We figured that if we couldnt keep up, it just might be a common challenge for similar users out there.

Also, as a part of the purchase decision process it became fairly apparent that the reviews on the Apple Appstore were not relevant. Inevitably, the first 3-10 reviews were from the developers and their friends and family: straight 5-star ratings with glowing endorsements. Then, the competition would wade into the fray and the next 1-3 entries would be 1-star ratings.

Clearly, the need for an independent, un-biased review in recommending the BEST applications was becoming apparent. Thus, AppReview was born.

Development of the iPhone app has been exacting, defining the features that will help users find and acquire the BEST apps comfortably and easily. The availability of the website has helped AppReview grow into a household name as consumers young and old depend upon the recommendations and rankings from the only truly independent and comprehensive reviewer of apps for the iPhone® and iPOD Touch®.
